What do you know about the cars in Vietnam?

Car maybe is the very simple and popular name to call the means of carrying from 1 to 8 passengers. Vietnam is not the country that has the strong automobile manufacturing industry and also the need of using this means is in the same state.

With the first car named La Dalat that was made in Vietnam in 1970 and 5 years later with the thousand cars were produced per year, the automobile manufacturing industry in Vietnam from that moment has not any renown that related to the field itself till this moment.
Compared with the train or the plane, the car has not much sign of development in the construction of technology and foundation except the imported cars or the cars assembled in Vietnam. By this reason and some other reasons, you just find some main car types in Vietnam for transportation that including the Sedan type with the brands like Toyota Altis, Camry, Kia K3, Hyundai Sonata, Mercedes S-class, Hatchback type with the brands like Hyundai Grand i10, Ford Fiesta, Toyota Yaris, Mercedes A-class, SUV and Crossover with the brands like Lexus LX570 or RX350, Minivan type with the brands like Toyota Innova, Kia Rondo, Suzuki Ertiga. Especially the most popular cars you will see on the road or in your moving on tours that are sedan and minivan types. That means you will find the main names if you book the cars for transportation in Vietnam such as Toyota Altis, Camry, Kia K3, Hyundai Sonata, Mercedes S-class, Toyota Innova, Kia Rondo. This is also the explanation clearly that there are some car types that you are not easy to require as in your country where you may have the car types that are richer and more diverse.
In the case that you love to drive the car in Vietnam by some reason, it is not easy to do because you are required to transfer the driving certificate/ Licenses in the very complex way. Beside, the transportation foundation and traffic state in Vietnam are not familiar to foreigners to drive a car. However in some area especially such as Mui Ne in Phan Thiet, you have chance to drive a car in the town to the beach like the driving sport – it is acceptable.

So in most of cases, the using of cars in Vietnam is popular for local people. Foreigners who come to Vietnam, all should hire a car with local driver or book the car from the agencies that care all about this. It is more safety and more appropriate.
