Location
Siem Reap is the
famous province of Cambodia. It is the second tourist place where all people
come to visit after Phnom Penh in the time of travelling in this country. Of
course for many people, Siem Reap is the main point in their trip to Cambodia. Siem
Reap has its treasure that is Angkor Wat which is the ancient value
architecture.
Siem Reap is
located in the northwest of Cambodia. And in the south of it, there is the
famous Tonle Sap Lake. The province owns the long history and the good
condition to develop strongly in many fields today. This is considered the best
destination for tourists when come to Cambodia.
- Districts: The main city is Siem Reap and there are 12 districts in this province. The districts are Angkor Chum, Angkor Thum, and Banteay srei, Chi Kraeng, Kralanh, Puok, Prasat Bakong, Siem Reab, Soutr Nikom, Srei Snam, Svay Leu and Varin.
- Climate: Siem Reap is in the tropical climate with warmness and humidity. The rain time in this area is from May to October. The dry time is from November to April. The cool time is in the period of November to March. And the hot time is from March to May. The average temperature is 24 to 27 C degree. It is good for travelling in this city throughout the year.
- Transportation: Travel conveniently by land, river way and airline to the city and from it to other provinces.

Landscapes
- Angkor Wat: the heritage of the world with important value of culture and architecture. Angkor Wat is located far from Siem Reap’s Center more than 5 km to the north. Angkor Wat was built in 12th century under the time of the King Suryavarman II.
- Kravan Temple: the temple is located not far from Angkor Wat to the east. It is the great architecture was built in the 10th century under the King Harshavarman I.
- Banteay Kdei Temple: this is the temple with the architecture in the Bayon style. The temple was built in the end of 12th century to the beginning of 13th century. It is located not far form Angkor Wat.
- Ta Prohm Temple: one of the very famous temples that located in the area of Angkor Wat. The temple was built in Bayon style. It is considered that the temple was built in the period of the end of 12th century to the beginning of 13th century.
- Bayon Temple: one of the most important temples in Angkor Wat Area. It was built in the period of the end of 12th century to the beginning of 13 century. The unique feature in this temple is that there are many faces on the towers.
- Angkor Thom Temple: the famous destination in Siem Reap is after Angkor Wat. The temple is located far from Angkor Wat nearly 2 km to the north. The temple was built in the period of the end of 12th century to the beginning of 13th century under the time of King Jayavarman VII.
- Angkor Zoo: the zoo is located far from Siem Reap’s center about 5 km. This is one of the great destinations where you explore the wild life with many species of animals and birds.
- Angkor National Museum: the famous museum in Siem Reap City. It is located nearly to the north of the city and not far from the center. This is the great place for you to understand about Khmer culture and history through the time with many value collections.
And there are

Festivals:
- Independence Day: the event is happened in 09 November each year in Siem Reap and all provinces in Cambodia.
- Victory Day: the event is happened in 08 January each year in Siem Reap and all provinces in Cambodia. .
- Khmer New Year: it is happened from 13 April to 16 April in Siem Reap and all provinces in Cambodia.
- Apsara Dance Performances: are happened in some locations in Siem Reap from 01 May to 31 August.
And there are
many other unique festivals and events in the city.
Local specialties
There are
different local specialties in the city such as prahok (a dip of prahok cooked
with minced pork and coconut and some other ingredients), amok fish, green mango
salad, chilli fried insects, bamboo sticky rice, nom banh chok, Khmer cakes,
stir fried ants with beef and other typical specialties.
